The systems we rely on, read through the data.

I'm Jeff Ahmadi. I turn primary data — system-operator feeds, public records, open-government datasets — into the analysis the headlines tend to skip, across the systems we rely on: the power grid, public safety, the city. Every piece here is built from source data you can trace and reproduce, not press-release talking points.

About

About the writing

I analyse systems through their data: how an electricity grid generates and emits, where road emergencies strain a fire service, and — across domains — where the public narrative drifts from what the records actually show. The work starts at the original publisher — system operators, regulators, municipal open-data portals — and is validated against known figures before any chart gets drawn.

My standard is simple: a claim is only as good as the data behind it and whether someone else can reproduce it. So the analysis here is transparent about scope, sources, and the places the numbers don't say what people assume they do.

How the work gets done

Primary-source data — cleaned, modelled and analysed in Python, SQL, Power BI and Tableau, from star-schema BI models to machine-learning classifiers — with every figure reconciled against published totals.
